On Tuesday supporters of Senator Bernie Sanders sent emails to the Democratic National Committee (DNC) requesting that the deadline for the “Super Tuesday” primaries be moved back at least 24 hours, explaining that they just need a little more time.
The enthusiastic but “super stressed” would-be voters wrote that they have been trying to manage their time better, but have “fallen behind” this semester. While asking for the extension, the liberal wing of the Democratic Party noted that they have “a lot of other papers due this week.”
The left-leaning democrats explained that although they are “feeling the Bern,” they are also feeling the immense pressure of the academic system, and are struggling to both maintain a healthy mental state and fulfill their many obligations. Supporters of the Vermont Senator were confident, however, that given a few extra days they would be able to “really do this right.”
At press time, Democratic turnout in the twelve states and territories that vote today is historically low, but Facebook posts about Senator Sanders are at an all-time high.
